Founded by Robert E. Lusk Jr., Lusk Law Firm, LLC, is an established law firm that concentrates on representing individuals and families in matters of divorce, custody, adoption and family law. With offices in Mobile and Fairhope, we serve clients in Mobile and Baldwin counties and throughout the state of Alabama.
Mr. Lusk has not only practiced law in Alabama since 1987, but he helped shape the law as well. In addition to his work on behalf of clients, he served many years as a staff liaison with the Alabama State Bar in the areas of lawyer ethics and professional responsibility. He has also been closely involved over the years in reforming and updating Alabama’s family law statutes to reflect the changing dynamics and needs of modern families.

A Focus On Families And Family Law
Lusk Law Firm provides focused counsel and representation for the complex matters of Alabama family law, including divorce, custody and child support.
Mr. Lusk is a skilled trial lawyer but strives to help clients reach amicable resolutions to avoid the acrimony and expense of litigation. He is also a registered mediator who can serve as a neutral facilitator to help couples work out disputes over custody, visitation, property and/or financial support obligations.
Mr. Lusk’s special passion is adoption law, applying his years of experience to assist adoptive parents and birth parents in creating new families. He is also a certified guardian ad litem (attorney for the children in custody cases) and serves as a trainer for other guardian ad litems.
A Strong Background In Professional Ethics And Discipline
Mr. Lusk draws on his 30-plus years of experience as a government lawyer, prosecutor and disciplinary counsel to represent professionals in matters involving licensure, discipline and administrative law. He has defended doctors, lawyers, nurses and a wide range of other licensed professionals statewide who are at risk of losing their livelihood because of allegations of misconduct or malfeasance. With decades of experience as an adviser to the Alabama State Bar on the Rules of Professional Conduct, the Rules of Disciplinary Procedure and the Client Security Fund Rules, he is uniquely equipped to gauge where you stand and how to respond to accusations of wrongdoing.
Mr. Lusk has practiced before the United States District Courts in the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts in Alabama as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. He is a 1987 graduate from The University of Alabama School of Law. As a member of the Alabama State Bar with 25 years of practice, Mr. Lusk served as assistant general counsel for the Alabama State Bar from October 1995 until February 2013. As disciplinary counsel for the Alabama State Bar, he was responsible for providing oversight to investigations of grievances against lawyers and prosecution of lawyer disciplinary cases and other licensure matters before the Disciplinary Commission, Disciplinary Board and the Supreme Court of Alabama.
